Cliques

Cliques

Like all "good" high schools Opal High has divided itself into cliques. This isn't a complete list, but below is a list of the main cliques active in Opal High. As a student, regardless of any other goings on, you'll likely find yourself drawn into the bloodsport that is teen politics.

Select one primary clique and one secondary clique to be a part of. This choice doesn't automatically mean you are hated/liked, or hate/like certain people, but it does mean that some people are more likely to speak openly with you, or more likely to be suspicious.

Your primary clique is how others in the school  (and potentially beyond it) will see you. Each clique   has advantages and disadvantages, written below. In addition whenever you use a social skill on someone who shares your primary clique, you roll 2 extra dice.

Whenever you use a social skill on someone whose primary clique is the same as your secondary clique, you roll 1 extra die. Note that this is the only effect that your secondary clique gives, you do NOT get the benefits/drawbacks that your primary clique would get.

If your primary clique would affect your secondary clique's rolls, total all modifiers.

Artists – Get a free Crafts specialty related to art, but roll 1 less die when making social rolls when interacting with Hipsters.

Band Kids – Get a free Expression specialty related to music.

Goths – Gain a specialty in occult of your choice. Roll 2 less social dice when rolling a social roll when interacting with Preppies, Jocks, and Surfer Dudes.

Hipsters – Roll 1 more die when making social rolls interacting with the clique of your choice as you copy their vintage style. That said, you have really rubbed someone the wrong way, select a different clique to roll 2 less dice when making a social roll and interacting with.

Outsiders – Outsiders are a special case. If you choose outsiders as a primary clique you may not choose a secondary clique. Outsiders cannot be chosen as a secondary clique.
